The Sydney University Education Action Group (EAG) is a registered collective of the Sydney University Students' Representative Council (SRC). The EAG is comprised of students committed to ensuring that education at USYD is high quality and affordable.
The EAG runs campaigns on a range of education issues, from staff cuts to the protection of Honours. In 2012 the EAG organised the fightback against the 340 job cuts rammed through by the Vice-Chancellor. In partnership with the NTEU, the campaign was hugely successful and mobilised unprecedented numbers of students in a rolling series of actions that stopped Spence in his tracks. Since then, we have been key in mobilising students against course cuts, in solidarity with staff strikes and for a better future of tertiary education. The EAG meets every week in the New Law Annexe, Darlington Campus. Check this page for details on the campaigns that are being run and the location and time of weekly meetings!
