FoodHub

Free food hampers for students in need
Free food hampers for students in need

Foodhub is a short-term initiative committed to addressing the cost of living crisis students are facing.

The Student Representative Council runs Foodhub with the support of the University of Sydney Union to provide students with basic necessities (like bread and milk) while they complete their studies at the University of Sydney. According to a survey conducted in October 2022 more than half of students who live out of home to study aren’t able to access youth allowance. Additionally, 110,000 students are attempting to live on a mere $26 a day. Foodhub is open to students of the University of Sydney to address this devastating oversight by the government. Foodhub exists in the gap where there should be proper assistance for students.  Our ethos is this: students cannot properly participate in tertiary education if they are struggling to make ends meet.

Open times: Monday to Friday 11am to 2pm
Please note: Foodhub will be open during mid semester 1 break.

Location: Level 3, Wentworth Building (opposite Laneway Cafe).
