FoodHub, a collaboration between the SRC and USU is now on Level 3, Wentworth Building, and is open from Monday to Friday.
FoodHub is a service provided by the SRC and USU that provides free food and other essential items to University students who are struggling with finances or food insecurity.
FoodHub is now open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. FoodHub is now located on Level 3, Wentworth Building, opposite Lanway Cafe, and inside the 'Welcome Hub'.
In a time of a high cost of living, FoodHub is an essential and immediate relief for students, as we demand more action from the government to ease student hunger and poverty. According to a survey conducted in October 2022 more than half of students who live out of home to study aren’t able to access youth allowance. Additionally, 110,000 students are attempting to live on a mere $26 a day. Foodhub is open to students of the University of Sydney to address this devastating oversight by the government. Foodhub exists in the gap where there should be proper assistance for students. Our ethos is this: students cannot properly participate in tertiary education if they are struggling to make ends meet.
