The SRC is currently closed, however, we will be checking the “Help” email account intermittently. It may take 3–4 business days to respond to your email, but we will help you as soon as we can. The SRC will re-open on 9am Monday 10th January 2022. The University is following the same schedule and will also re-open Monday 10th January. Academic appeals

This summer break, where the University is closed, is not considered “working days” and does not count towards calculating an appeal deadline. For example, if you are making an informal appeal on a grade you received on Wed 22nd Dec, your appeal would be due on or before Mon 21st Jan. Here is a link to our leaflet and video.

Accommodation

If you are at risk of homelessness contact Uni security (9351 3333) to ask them to contact the Uni’s accommodation team on your behalf. If that is not possible, contact Link2Home to discuss your options.

Centrelink

If you have an urgent matter with Centrelink please email all of the relevant paperwork together with a list of questions to ask a caseworker about your situation. Do not miss a deadline with Centrelink, as this will jeopardise your payment.

Legal matters

The SRC legal service will be unavailable during the lockdown period and the email inbox will not be checked during that time. For urgent legal matters refer to MyLegalMate or your community legal centre. One of our solicitors will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible during the week beginning Mon 10th January. Please note that we are anticipating a high volume of enquiries and there may be a small delay in responding.

Show good cause (Stage 3 academic progression)

Carefully read our leaflet (and videos) on how to write a show good cause letter. If your deadline is before Mon 10th Jan, they have mistakenly given you the incorrect deadline. No letters are due during the Uni’s closure. Draft your letter and email it here. A caseworker will review your draft when the SRC re-opens and can make suggested changes for you to consider.

Special consideration
